Northern Secondary School (Toronto)
In 2003, Northern Secondary School (NSS) became the first school to use ParentInterview. NSS, then under Principal Bob Milne, was looking to help teachers and parents by making parent teacher interviews less of a hassle. Our unique internet-based approach to scheduling eliminated hundreds of hours of tedious administrative paperwork for teachers. ParentInterview lets parents schedule their interviews to fit their schedule from home without sending forms back-and-forth with teachers. To accommodate parents without internet access, NSS has students available to answer calls and schedule interviews by phone. ParentInterview is still in use today at NSS and has been refined over the past four years.
Sir Allan MacNab Secondary School (Hamilton)
Sir Allan MacNab Secondary School (SAM) in Hamilton, Ontario went from paper-based to internet-based interview scheduling within three weeks and only one-day of setup. In contrast with NSS, SAM does not use a parallel phone system. All interviews are scheduled online. We worked with teachers at SAM and the Federation of Teachers' concerns about publishing teachers' emails. ParentInterview protects the privacy of teachers, parents and students in compliance with all applicable guidelines. SAM continues to be an enthusiastic client of ParentInterview.
